1) Introduction:

xm2Rss is a small program that let's a user of Gmail check their mail without having to be logged in through their web browser.
The program sits in the bottom right hand corner of the user's screen and constantly checks to see whether the user has new mail or not.
If they do, the user can then click on the tab that tells them how many new messages they have and it will automatically log them into
their Gmail account. xm2Rss is not just a program but an RSS feed that is freely available to any user who wishes to use it. It is derived from the original gmail2Rss script developed by muadib.blogspot.com however his project was abandoned on version 0.3 in August of 2004. The xm2Rss script allows the developer or user to pass in their username and password and the script generates a dynamic RSS XML sheet containing information about their account, such as: Amount of new messages, number of total messages, amount of space used, and more.  As the software becomes more popular we will increase the amount of information that is displayed in the RSS feed.

2) How to use it:

xm2Rss is capable of checking a users Gmail account and then displaying the information back to them without them having to login through a web browser.

The initial screen of xm2Rss looks like this:

The program has two fields where the Gmail user can enter their username and password, there's no need to type "@gmail.com".
The third option is the users icon in the top right hand corner.
The users icon, when clicked, will allow the user to quickly switch between the multiple accounts that they have already logged in through the application.  This is a great feature for people who have multiple Gmail accounts and want to be able to switch between them quickly.

When Switching, the screen looks like this:

As you can see, there is a drop down combo box which contains all the Gmail addresses that you've typed into the program. Once you click on an e-mail address, the program will automatically fill in the fields for you.  The Gmail address that you first use will always come up first and will automatically fill itself in, so it is recommended that which ever Gmail address you plan on using the most, login with that one first.
If you need to change the password in the quick switcher, simply click on the users icon again, after choosing the Gmail address to change, and then it will allow you to type in the new password.

If you happen to type in the wrong username or the wrong password the program will let you know.

The screen will then look like this:

If you don't have any new messages in your Gmail account the application will look like this:

If you don't have any new messages then after a few seconds the application will minimize itself, however it still will continue to check your account until you finally receive a new message.

If you do have new messages then the screen will look something like this:

in the system tray the normal icon of the program will turn into a blinking message envelope icon to alert you of a new message.

Your system tray should look something like this:

You can then right click on the blinking message envelope icon to pull up a menu that will say something like this:

Simply click on the tab that says "you have ___ new messages" and it will pull up Internet Explorer
and automatically pass your username and password into Gmail and will automatically log you into your Gmail account.

To utilize the RSS feed simply type in:

https://www.xmailharddrive.com/xm2Rss/xm2rss.xmhd?username=type user name here&passWord=type password here

The script accepts the two fields and then creates a dynamic RSS XML feed based upon the credentials supplied by you.
Enjoy and let us know if you make something creative with it!

We are not responsible for any misuse of the RSS feed including: if you give out your username and password or any other security issues, because we have not tested the security issues related to a dynamic RSS feed that accesses your account outside of our program.

Simply find your favorite .mp3 file like this:

You will see the cursor look something like this:

If you drag any other type of a file the cursor will look something like this:

If you do get tired of your won songs and want to change the sound back to the default sound, simply right-click anywhere on the application
while you are logged in and a menu will pop-up just like this:

version 3.2.8.0 has been totally re-designed from the inside out. We took apart the entire application and re-built it better and more structured. The .MP3 capabilities have been fixed to run smoother and faster, the auto-updater has been altered. The best update in this new version is the option to use either Internet Explorer or FireFox as your browser when checking your Gmail instead of only IE.
